Tops

“Zoo Planckendael” is an attractive zoo with nice scenery, with very large animal enclosures and open spaces. The zoo is divided into 5 continents. Nice vantage point where you can see the giraffes, beautiful elephant enclosure, koalas, Tasmanian devils and a beautiful African village with bonobos For the children there are many playgrounds and climbing games in the zoo.

Tips

Unfortunately not many indoor options in bad weather. You do have value for money at the moment in corona times as there is almost nothing inside (much more than eg “Zoo Antwerp”).
From November 1 to March 31 you can have a picnic in the Toepaja and De Ooievaar, provided you consume one drink per person. From April 1 to October 31, picnics are not allowed in Toepaja, but in De Ooievaar if you order one drink per person. You can visit De Wapiti all year round, where drinks are not mandatory. Of course there are also several places in the park (outside the restaurants) where you can eat your sandwiches. In corona times the restaurants are open for take away.
We can recommend the “Toepaja” (in normal times) for something to eat, the price / quality is good.
