No doubt about theming: beautifully – nice decorated – castle, both outside and inside. There is potential in this! Unfortunately they miss the ball here …
Restaurant with table service and choice menus. Where you used to have to book your table in advance, it is now completely free and they place people when a table is free. You can’t even make a reservation anymore. The selective is gone.
Not that people will really pay that much for a menu (for subscribers 10% of the price will be deducted), the price is still reasonably good (for a table service restaurant), but the quality is very hard to find.
Carpaccio is frozen wholesale quality, the soup is Knorr quality, they don’t know cuisson here, the sauce that comes with it is gelatinous tasteless Knorr knit, the vegetables that are there are tasteless and unseasoned, etc. I already hear people say: “yes , but it is difficult to cut carpaccio ‘à la minute’ for so many people? “. That’s right, but either you work with quality products (better for your image of your restaurant), or you just don’t put carpaccio on your menu if you know you don’t have enough kitchen staff for that. But serving something and knowing that your products have no taste is a pity, isn’t it?
We have visited this restaurant several times and each time it was disappointing. Very unfortunate of course, they have a kitchen there, but it is not fully used (or only used to ‘mise en place’ and to heat it up).
Very bizarre (and especially regrettable), especially when one knows that the owner of the park has so many connections in the cooking world and presents his own cooking programs, then you expect to see a chef behind the stove with a more selective menu in such a concept for people who want to experience that little bit more in the park.
