Hotel Van der Valk Avifauna (Alphen aan den Rijn) is located at the foot of the “Vogelpark Avifauna”. If you book an overnight stay here, your entrance to the park is free!

Spacious parking (free of charge). The hotel is divided into three parts (not nice in bad weather) : the reception – the restaurant – the room area. The friendliness at the reception was unfortunately disappointing. There is also a casino at the end of the parking lot.

As for the rooms : spacious and well maintained rooms, unfortunately without air conditioning (we were here in the middle of summer). The room with park view was the coolest (tip!), the one overlooking the parking lot was an oven. The corridors and elevator are very outdated. There was also a bar in this area, it looked cozy, but unfortunately it was closed due to lack of staff.

The restaurant was nice, clean and cozy to be in. Terrace was also very cozy. Unfortunately, the service here was also totally inadequate and the food was a bit less good value for money. Too bad because the interior and the atmosphere really appealed to us.
