Located just at the entrance/exit of “Plopsa Coo” (exit side waterfalls in the park) you come across this hotel. The hotel actually has 3 facilities: a hotel of course, a brasserie in the hotel and a brasserie at the foot of the falls.
The brasserie at the waterfalls has a terrace with an incredibly beautiful view of the amusement park “Plopsa Coo” and the nature around it. We didn’t eat here, but did have a drink. Many beers on the menu. The tapas plate with Ardennes specialties was tasty. We thought price/quality was a bit too expensive. Friendliness staff was ok.
We did not test the brasserie itself as the atmosphere was less so. That’s why we decided to test “Le baron” (see review).
The hotel is very small-scale. No one present on arrival, hotel and brasserie closed. After a few phone calls someone came to welcome us and give us our key. The rooms were reasonably spacious, very spacious bathrooms (too spacious, because there were so many empty surfaces), but no possibility to shower as the shower head could not hang anywhere. No air conditioning. No TV manual in the room (the wifi code is there too), creaky beds. The other room was more modern, smaller bathroom, larger sleeping area with balcony. Unfortunately got up with an ant colony on the floor, in the bed, everywhere.
The friendliness of the owner here was very distant at first, when we left a little more friendly and jovial. We didn’t have breakfast here either. Price/quality of the room on the expensive side.
Our tip: you can take a break at the foot of the amusement park, there are plenty of options. On the other hand, we do not recommend sleeping in Petit Coo.
