Not far from Mont Saint-Michel in France you have “Alligator Bay”, a large reptile and crocodile house with both an indoor and an outdoor area. Outside you can discover all kinds of turtles, including a large group of giant turtles, and you can also pet turtles. The reptile area is nicely made, with some original terrariums at times. The conservatory where the crocodiles sit is really worth a look.

Tips

Ideal to visit with children after a visit to Mont-Saint-Michel.
The giant tortoises are really impressive (plus here they have a lot of turtle species and you can pet some).
We stayed in “Hotel Mercure Mont Saint Michel”, an ideally located hotel close to the foot of Mont Saint Michel. Ample free parking, but since the bay of Mont Saint Michel is private area where all restaurants and hotels are located, you have to pay to enter the domain. Count about 10 euros per 24 hours. We tested the hotel’s restaurant “Le Pré Salé” and we were pleasantly surprised and had a very good meal there. The hotel bar, on the other hand, is uninviting. The rooms themselves were ok in size and layout, the cleanliness on the other hand could be better sometimes. The friendliness of the staff was ok, could be better here and there.
